Fire safety in construction competency can only be granted in conjunction with training provided by the person(s) responsible for your premises, contextualised to this, and informed by an up to date Fire Risk Assessment. This course does not provide competency to fight fire, use fire extinguishers, or carry out fire risk assessments, and is not applicable to residential settings. Employers have a legal duty to provide you with fire safety training when you are first employed, and update this when there are new or increased risks due to: You being transferred or given a change of responsibilities; You being required to use new or modified work equipment, technology or systems of work.
