Employers are required by law to prevent or reduce workers exposure to hazardous substances & COSHH Awareness Training is likely to form part of this. It is important to remember that the employers are also required by law to fulfil ALL of the following to comply with the law in relation to COSHH safety:

  • Find out what the health hazards are
  • Decide how to prevent harm to health (risk assessment)
  • Provide control measures to reduce harm to health
  • Make sure they are used
  • Keep all control measures in good working order
  • Provide information, instruction and training for workers and others
  • Provide monitoring and health surveillance in appropriate cases
  • Plan for emergencies
